School office hours are from 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
Registration appointments can be scheduled between 11:30 AM-1:00 PM (call (702)799-1730 ext. 4006 to schedule) or walk-in between 7:00 AM-2:30 PM
 

Breakfast is served in the MP Room starting at 7:15 AM.

All students have the option to receive breakfast at no charge.
 

Go to transportation.ccsd.net and click “Check eligibility“. 

Students must be registered for school before receiving transportation services. 

Parents must complete the CCF-705 and check the box requesting transportation. 

If all information remains the same from year to year, it is not necessary to re-register a student for transportation.
 

All CCSD campuses offer content-based English Language Instruction. 

Students will be taught the English language while learning grade-level appropriate curriculum. 

Students new to the District will be initially assessed for their English language proficiency within the first 30 days of school. 

ELL students are tested annually to measure English language growth. 

Our school has after-school programs to assist students in their learning of subject matter and English. 

Our campus usually offers an after-school program each fall and spring.
 

Registration

When a student is enrolling in a Clark County School District (CCSD) school for the first time or re-enrolling, parents need the following items to complete the registration:

• One form of proof of address is a recent utility bill, rental/lease agreement, sales contract, or mortgage statement. A driver’s license, telephone bill, and/or cable bill are unacceptable forms of address verification. If you live with a friend or relative, call the Shared Housing number at 702-799-8630 or the Homeless Outreach Program Office at 702-855-6682.
• Personal identification (driver’s license, picture identification, etc.) of the parent/guardian, bearing his or her name.
• One proof of child’s identity (copies not accepted): original birth certificate, a passport, or a certified birth card issued by the Southern Nevada Health District or another health district. The Vital Records Office for children born in Clark County is located at the Southern Nevada Health District, 330 S. Valley View, Las Vegas, 702-759-1000.
• Student immunization record. Parent(s) must have records indicating that the child has had or has started specific immunizations [NRS392.435]. Students can enroll but not attend school if the immunization requirements are unmet. (See Immunizations topic.)
• If the address you utilize is not the address you are residing at, your name will be recorded, and your child(ren) will be withdrawn. To re-register later on, you may be asked for additional proof of residence.
   

Required Immunizations

NRS 392.435 mandates the following immunizations as a prerequisite to enrollment in school:

• Four or Five DTP, DT, DTaP doses (diphtheria/pertussis/tetanus)
• Three or Four polio doses
• Two MMR doses (mumps/measles/rubella)
• Two Hepatitis A doses
• Two Varicella doses (chickenpox)
• Three Hepatitis B doses
• Flu annually

For 7th grade entry, one (1) TDaP dose is required at 11-12 years of age.

Unless excused because of religious belief or medical condition, a child may not enroll/attend a public school without proper immunizations.

Absences

If your child is absent from school, you must send a note explaining the absence to the front office on the first day of his/her return. Not all absences are excused absences.

Notes must be submitted to the front office within (3) days of the absence to be marked as excused. 

The family is responsible for contacting the teacher to obtain appropriate makeup work following the absence. 

By law, after 10 unexcused absences, the school can file educational neglect with the city of North Las Vegas. 

In addition, students who exceed 20 absences (excused and/or unexcused) during the school year may result in retention.

All prearranged absences must be approved by the administration. Any student with an excess of ten (10) days during a school year shall be considered unapproved for any pre-arranged absence. 

Approved prearranged absences for which the makeup work was not completed and submitted as specified by the teacher shall be considered unapproved and reverted as such in Infinite Campus.
 

Student Discipline

We realize the importance of developing in each child an attitude of self-respect and self-worth. 

We provide various opportunities and learn established norms called core values. 

They are Kindness, Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Perseverance, Courage, and Compassion.

Classroom management is a critical factor in successful student achievement. 

Before any of the following steps should be followed, the teacher will implement the school-wide discipline plan. 

Every effort is made to ensure Restorative Processes are used when applicable.

A student will be sent directly to the administration in the front office for major infractions such as a physical fight, physically endangering self or others, destroying property, possession of a weapon, drugs, harassment, or severe insubordination. 

The school will notify the student’s parents and schedule a required parent conference meeting.

Students may progress through our progressive discipline process and receive further discipline, like suspension.
 

Bullying is not tolerated at Elizondo Elementary

The school district strives to address bullying and cyberbullying so that there is no disruption to the learning environment and learning process.

SafeVoice

Volunteering at School

Volunteers are always needed and welcomed both in the classroom and for special school activities such as picture day, field day, and fundraising projects. 

If you are interested in volunteering, please speak with the teacher or office staff member prior to the day of volunteering. You must always receive permission from school administrators before volunteering.

All volunteers must sign in and out of our security software, Ident-a-Kid, which requires a form of identification. Your provided identification will be run through a database.

No cell phones may be used by volunteers in a school to ensure compliance with FERPA laws. 

CCSD dress code is mandatory for parents, staff, and students. 

If you would like to help out in other areas of the school, please speak with the front office staff. 

Volunteers are limited to family members of Elizondo students over the age of 18, invited guests, or those involved in the field of education.

Class Observation Requests

Parents and/or legal guardians can visit their child’s classroom. A 24-hour advance notice with the school administration is required, along with the objective/reason for the visit. 

Observations will last no longer than 20 minutes.

All visitors must bring identification to be run through our security program to ensure that the students are always safe and the campus is secure. 

As per CCSD policy, children under the age of 18, who are not enrolled at Elizondo ES, are not allowed on campus during the instructional day and may be denied access for events. 

In addition, students who have been RPC’d or suspended from another CCSD school are not allowed on any school property during any time within the district. 

Visitors must follow the volunteer requirements above.

Bringing Lunch from Home

Yes and no. Children may bring a lunch or snack that has peanuts in the ingredients. They will be allowed to eat their food in the cafeteria as the students with peanut allergies eat at a separate table with their friends.

Students will not be allowed to eat foods with peanut ingredients anywhere else on the school campus.

We are not a peanut-free school because we allow peanut-based ingredients in the cafeteria, but these items are restricted to the cafeteria.

We also have some children that are allergic to other substances and foods. Please make sure your child knows not to share their food with other students here at the school. We want everyone to be safe and healthy.

Dress Code Rules Enforced 

All students are expected to wear proper attire to school to foster an environment that promotes learning. 

The CCSD dress code: 

• Requires the wearing of shoes with soles. 
• Prohibits crop tops (no skin showing between bottom of shirt/blouse and top of pants/skirts); strapless, low-cut clothing; clothing with slits; or tops and outfits that provide minimum coverage. 
• It prohibits spaghetti straps. All sleeveless shirts must have straps at least three inches wide and covering the shoulder. 
• Requires that all shorts, skirts, and dresses be fingertip length. Shorts must be hemmed and without fraying. 
• Prohibits the wearing of headgear on campus, except for designated school-approved uniforms or at authorized athletic practices or activities. 
• Prohibits slogans or advertising on clothing that, by their controversial or obscene nature, disrupt the educational setting. Clothing with spikes or studs is also prohibited. 
• Requires coats, mittens, and scarves to be removed upon entering the classroom. 

The school administration has the right to designate which types of dress or appearance disrupt or detract from the educational program and may be a potential safety hazard. See the attached file for more information.
